What book/books are you reading now?

I have recently finished reading Plunder in Paradise - Geraldine McCaughrean, and now started reading Stamboul Train - Graham Greene.

What influenced you choices?

Hey, Barbara and Jimmy,

That gives me an idea for a new Q&A.

Barbara,

I know what you mean. There are books that I have BURNED rather than risk letting them be extracted from the rubbish and their contaminating other readers.

But I was writing under the influence of my one brain cell's recent overworking. I was thinking of those mats that you set under hot pots to protect the table surface from becoming scorched: NOT place mats.

Jimmy,

No, I wouldn't want to be reminded of the lost hours of my life reading it. The book went in the bin at speed. I wasn't even going to give it away. Maybe some of his books were good, I will never know.

The Asda recipe book is robust, unpretentious and sometimes useful. I must really get some proper tablemats.
