What does an agent do? What does a publisher do? Who do I go to/find first?

Hiya Kai, well the is a huge difference between a agent and a publisher.

With Agents they tend to everything, they know what publishers to find and who is best for your work! It isn't easy get either of them you have to do a lot of research in your case with you being so young I'd go down the agent road! They will do mainly everything for you. But you have to make sure you pick the correct agent! Look at what you are writing and then do a search on the agent! Like I've said and many others on here if you look at the advice section in her it will give you all the answers you need. Or if you go and get a book like Writers and Artists year book. It will explain everything you need to know in there. It takes you set by set on what you need to know and what agents do and what publishers do!
