What do you think of LAMDA’s choices?

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts have set four books for 2015. How many of these books have you read?

Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen (Brilliant. Austen is my favourite traditional author.)

Alice in Wonderland – Lewis Carroll (Fantastic read)

Little Women – Louisa May Alcott (This has to be the best piece of American literature)

The London Eye Mystery – Siobhan Dowd.

Sadly, Dowd only wrote a handful of brilliant books before she died of breast cancer. Patrick Ness completed A Monster Calls, for which Dowd was awarded the Carnegie Medal, posthumously. I’m glad there is a Siobhan Dowd Trust. It is a fitting tribute. Long may her legacy continue.

Me too - read & loved them all except for The London Eye Mystery. I'll have to add that to my 'to read' list obviously.

I've read them all except for The London Eye Mystery, so I think I will have to add that to my reading list! I love all the Little Women books, have passed them on (along with Alice and Jane Austen) to my daughter (who is seven). Good literature never goes out of style :-)
