What punctuation marks do you prefer using?

I mainly use: commas, fullstops and apostrophes.

I use question marks, ellipsis, colons and hyphens sparingly.

I rarely use, semi-colons, dashes, brackets/parentheses, obliques or exclamation marks.

"I use this kind of speech mark when I am talking," commented Rob. "My friend told me, 'If you want to quote what I say when you're talking, I prefer you to use this kind'."

I think I'm rather shy with the punctuation, so I mostly use what is strictly required by the text. I sometimes use italics when I want to emphasize a word, especially in dialogue.

I agree on the overuse of exclamation marks! I think that you can just use too many of them!! If you are not careful!!!

;-)

On the other hand what do people think about the use of italics, underlining and bold script to accentuate text? They are not punctuation but they can achieve similar ends... Can't they?
