To quote an Admin in an earlier post.
'There's more information on changes to the Reward Points system coming later in the year. Just a few more things to finalise...!'
I would like to see Reward Points given not only for a reply to a question and, for asking one.
Reward points should be given for posting in the shared works section, a reply to a shared work and a reply in the blog section.That would encourage more members to post and post replies, but only if points accrued are worth having.
The rewards for accruing points needs updating. I would like to see books on all aspects of creative writing and self-publishing given as a reward. Also,copies of both the writers and artists yearbook and the writers and artists children's yearbook.
I welcome more reasonable suggestions.
This is my 2nd favourite Q&A thread! :)
For every open-forum declaration of love for another user: 3,000 points!
OK, OK, I've had my think.
I suggest that anybody who
a) posts a Q and thanks another user for posting a useful reply;
b) writes 'I really like so-and-so's comment'
WITHOUT clicking on the 'thumbs-up' for the appreciated comment - within, say, 30 seconds - should have a small electric shock administered to them. Nothing dangerous: just the electrical equivalent of a rap on the knuckles.
For repeat offenders, the charge could be increased. Also for OPs who don't even bother THANKING others for their helpful comments.
If Admin doesn't have the technology for the electric charge (or their electricity bill is already too high), they could deduct points from ungrateful users: perhaps 20 points for a first offence and so on. Users who dip below 200 points AND who have already received their free book would be required to return it - in MINT condition.
If you reach -200 points, we send round the Mulligan boys.
