What should I study?

I am a graduate of high school, I am preparing study at higher college or university, but I am confused because I wanted to study law. But now, I wanted to study a course first, be a graduate and later study law. I am looking for a course that will help my English speaking and writing. I am also looking for a course that consists of Literature in English. Starting from high school, I have fallen in love with literature and became one of the best students because I wanted to be a Novelist. I wanted now to study Literature In English. But will that help my English. I have some courses that I really like, but do not know the right one. Please which one should I study among the course below?

Mass-communication

English Language

English Literature

Journalism

Some people have been advising me to study mass-communication because it’s broad and will improve my English. Others talk about English Language as a course. Journalism is what my father chose. English Literature is what I like.

Please which one should I choose that will make my English writing and speaking perfectly and that will add to me knowledge of literature – book writing? Does all these courses consist Literature English as an important subject?

Have you thought of seeking career counselling? Alternatively get piece of paper and draw a couple of columns, ask yourself what are your strengths and weaknesses, which do you prefer, writing or law. Of course have a backup plan but do one or either, perhaps both. Ask for a symetric test to find out what you are able to do.

You are asking people to make a career, life-choice decision for you. That will not happen. You are young enough to pick anyone of the four courses in your list, and not worry. if you fail you can always choose another course to study. You can only try your best and keep striving to improve.

In the words of Samuel Beckett - 'Try - Fail - Fail Better.'
