Hey guys,
I was just wondering... how much is too much when it comes to writing dark fiction ?
Do you think that there would be a point where the reader would just put the book down, because the story is just too depressing ?
Or must you add some sort of relief for yourself and the reader ?
Can the whole story, from beginning to end be tragic ?
(sorry asking too many questions....)
I think sometimes the public prefer to read something a bit `dark`. As long as the plot is realistic and does not include too many taboos . I like to read autobiographies and some of these can be a bit depressing as they are real life events that happened to real people.
Yaa its not important that the whole story needs to b dark... Add a little bit of happy moments to break the monotony of sadness... Adding some happy moments can give more life to your story and lets t to become more interesting... Sadness and depressive novels let a reader get pensive,,, even adding a little bit of humor can help:)
good luck....!
Wow !
Thank you everyone for their comments!
Very helpful, @ Maurice, exactly how I'm feeling. That there is something controling me to write this. I'm hoping once its over I can finally start fresh and breathe.
Good luck to everyone ! :)
