Where to start...

I have a lot of experience in writing (both corporate and creative) and have even written a couple of longer stories/novellas (the longest being 80,000 words). I now have a book idea that I am very enthusiastic about, I know the characters, written the outline, but I have no clue how to start! Why am I having writers block right at the start? Should I just start writing 'scenes' from the book that come up in my head and not necessarily in order? Thanks!

Hello Charlotte, Nicola, Nora and T.O.... I am sorry for the late response, I haven't been online since I posted this question... Thanks for the wonderful ideas, they are very helpful... Have been writing some scenes as well as a more thorough outline... :)

Hello, Melissa.

Well, I started writing books twice. At both times, I began making a prologue. You should try the same.

Hey Melissa

I agree with Charlotte for me it is always important to just write down any ideas scenes or even moments and ambience of the book. To an extend I would let it write itself, for me that is always the most creative times.

I hope you succeed.
