My favourite contemporary author is Michael Morpurgo. I have learned much from him.

I like the way writers such as Roald Dahl and Terry Pratchett write, somehow rules are bent but I can't see where they are doing it. My wife says I break the rules but it seems not in a good way, I know what I mean when I write but alas the reader would (if she didn't edit) be left scratching their head.
