Winner of "The Visit"

It was announced yesterday that we would be able to read the winning story of the above competition. I can't find it. Can anyone help?

Replies

to be honest I didn't think they had good plots which is what stories are supposed to be about and no sour grapes because I don't think I would have even got to the short list but they seem to have been judged not on "the story" which is what the comp was supposed to be. honestly not sour grapes but had I picked anyone of those up to read in a magazine I wouldn't have gone beyond the first few lines. You must be right "subjective"

Hi everyone.

Can I start the ball rolling, please. I have read all three stories. I liked one of them and had I been the judge I might have chosen it as one of the three. Formatting and lack of punctuation in one put me right off and the other I did not find memorable, but we all know competitions are subjective. Are there any other comments?

I'm not a sour graper. I'm very happy for these people to win. I honestly believe the judge selected those she thought were best. What a job, I wouldn't like it.

Best wishes to all the contestants especially those who have bounced onto a winning streak. May it take you to the very top of the tree.

Click on the "blogs" tab. It's there, along with some commentary from the judge.
