All works need endings, in fact its the last moments, the end that really makes a difference between the good and the great. There are a lots of works with some great endings, but there's always that one ending that we really like in comparison to the others, one we think as 'best'. So for you, what piece/work's ending was truly the 'best'?
Personally, I liked the ending of Harry Potter, I thought the last part was quite well done.
Dick Francis' 'Bolt' for me.
Unfortunately, it helps if you're familiar with the emotional consequences of having a horse put to sleep. But Francis captures all that guilt, anger and sorrow, tying it up in hope right at the end.
Plus he uses one great descriptive sentence which I suspect I'll steal at some point :)
My favourite ending has been the one of 'Around the World in Eighty Days'... Even now when I read it, I feel as if I am just elated! :D
