Hi all!

I wanted to see what writers people have been influenced by and whether these influences have contributed to their writing style?

Replies

For me it has been Enid Blyton, Rk Narayan and Arthur Conan Doyle who have been my influences. :D

Great responses from everyone :)

For me it's been Hemmingway and Fitzgerald who've really influenced my writing style, even though they are so different. Yet even though I enjoy the work of someone like Dostoevsky I can't really feel his style of writing influencing me because it really is beyond what I could possibly create and so I wouldn't even attempt it haha.

Oh by the way, did anyone enter into the short story comp? Apparently there were over 3000 entries, so I'm not hopeful ha.

David Almond and Philip Pullman - the first books I read that made me want to make something THAT good.
