Hi all..I just wanted your thoughts on erotic writing...
I'm well on writing my novel, Ultimate Betrayal now re - named the Mistress. I don't know how the hell I ended up writing a steamy novel, but it has ended up to be an erotic thriller, more on the lines of fifty shades of Grey....Its a liberating experience and Id love to share my next couple of chapters for feedback, I found writing the sex scene creative and it was a time consuming ,intricate process. However its extremely explicit and I just wanted to get views and opinions on this sort of genre before I upload and potentially upset a heap of people!!' thanks for your thoughts..... Kat.
Having written explicit sex scenes in the past, I would say that the number one rule with this kind of story is to check the guidelines of the site or publisher which you are planning to submit the story to. For some, there will be rules on what to exclude, for others an appropriate age rating and warnings will be enough. If it is too explicit for the intended audience, you may need to tone it down a little, but, to be honest, that's where allusion and swapping the whole chicken for merely a feather comes in useful.
