Do you want to tap in to the transformational power of poetry?
Join author, editor and poet Madeleine F White (Mother Of Floods, The Horse And The Girl, Maiden Mother Crone, Write On!) to explore how your own experience, strength and hope of midlife womanhood, can create stories that matter – to you and to others.
Madeleine will use a selection of her own poems, drawn from her unflinching memoir in verse, Maiden, Mother, Crone, to inspire a poetic response. This light touch writing workshop will give beginners and experienced writers the opportunity to be inspired and have a space to be creative.
By combining a practical and creative focus, the activities are designed to connect your ideas to each other and to platforms where voices that are all too often silenced can be amplified. You will therefore be invited to submit your work to the Maiden Mother Crone Anthology, a collection of poems published in response to the collection by Sea Crow Press in April 2026, allowing you to:
“Weave pixels into promises and shared words into prayers of hope,
and so transform this world of men to somewhere crones can fly again.”
With inclusion and spiritual expression at the heart of her work, Madeleine will also reflect on the importance of writing with purpose as part of her writing journey, reminding us that as women, we speak the same fundamental truths the world over.
This masterclass will take place online via Teams. It will also be recorded so if you are unable to attend live, you'll be able to catch-up and access the recording for up to two weeks after the event has taken place. The session will end with a brief Q&A, so come ready with your questions!
