Writing Picture Books

1st March 2021 7:00pm to 8:30pm, Online

Please note: this workshop is now sold out

Find out everything you need to know about creating a picture book, from idea to publication in this workshop led by author, Emma Perry. You'll (re)discover the importance of connecting with your childhood and the process of collecting ideas and using them to bring characters to life in fully-fledged stories.

Bring your picture book ideas and get advice on developing key themes, creating strong characters and structure, giving you the confidence to let your imagination fly.

The last 30 minutes of the session will be reserved for Q&A with Emma.

We are partnering with independent bookshop Bear Hunt Books and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase all festival books directly with them.

Exclusive Content

All attendees reserving a place at this event also receive free access to An Introduction to Children's Publishing in 2021, a video interview with Alysoun Owen, Editor of the Writers' & Artists' Yearbook and the Children's Writers'  & Artists' Yearbook. A link to the interview will be circulated by email ahead of the festival, and remain available to view for one week.
