Writing and Illustrating Picture Books

Then join award-winning author, illustrator and animator Yasmeen Ismail for this online masterclass, where she will be sharing top tips, techniques and guidance to support you as you develop your own picture book.  Yasmeen will shed light on her creative process, and her approaches to writing and illustration, whether she is working across both or with another creative. She will discuss how the visuals and text come together during the process, and offer advice on working collaboratively. She will guide you through turning story ideas into written narratives, and share her top tips for creating the visual language of your story from finding your illustrative style to using the right artistic materials, from place and setting to characters. Plus, she will offer tips for writers and/ or illustrators around the publication process, and answer any questions you might have in a 15 minuet Q&A that will finish the session

This masterclass will be online via Teams. It will also be recorded so if you are unable to attend live, you'll be able to catch-up and access the recording for up to two weeks after the event has taken place.
