Writing & Illustrating Picture Books

Writing & Illustrating Picture Books

If you're an illustrator and/or writer looking for a creative space to help hone ideas and bring characters to life - in prose and sketches - then this workshop is what you need. This session with author and illustrator Harry Woodgate makes up part of our online Children's & YA Fiction Festival. Harry will tell you everything you need to know about creating a picture book, from idea to publication. Bring your picture book ideas and get advice on developing key themes and creating strong characters and structure. This session will give you the confidence to let your imagination fly and provide the sort of inspiration that will leave you itching to get back to your sketches.  30 minutes will be reserved for a Q&A. Exclusive Content All attendees reserving a place at this event also receive free access to An Introduction to Children's Publishing in 2022, a video interview with Alysoun Owen, Editor of the Writers' & Artists' Yearbook and the Children's Writers'  & Artists' Yearbook. A link to the interview will be circulated by email and will remain available to view for one week.  We are partnering with an independent bookshop and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase all festival books directly with them.
