Writing A Poetry Collection
Join Mary Jean Chan, author of award-winning poetry collection Flèche, as they share how to craft and develop your poetry, and how to bring your poems together in a cohesive collection. They will talk through what makes a brilliant poem, writing from personal experience and the editorial process. Through advice, top tips and practical exercises they will help you find themes in your poetry so that you will come away with a greater understanding of how to see your poetry within the context of a collection. Plus they'll discuss what the right title can do for your collection. Mary Jean will also offer their insight into the process of getting a collection of poetry published, and how writers can work towards this. 15 minutes will be reserved for a Q&A at the end of the masterclass. This masterclass will be online, video platform to be confirmed. It will also be recorded so if you are unable to attend live, you'll be able to catch-up and access the recording for up to two weeks.
