W&A could do with an APP similar to Twitter/Facebook. Members could recieve notifications of new posts, thumbs ups, replies, message requests, internet links and perhaps a shout-box.

Melinda, thanks for asking about this (and your comments as well, Wilhelmina). This is more than a fair request, but the short answer is: we can't make it happen right now.
This is because we're currently in the process of looking at a host of improvements being made to the Community section (and the bit of functionality you've highlighted is on our list!). Hopefully it won't be too far into 2017 before you start to see changes taking place, and we'll be in touch to make everyone aware of exactly what's going on once more definite details are in place.
