Hi, I recently have read a few stories about writers who have sent off their manuscripts and met rejections only to change their name, to a pen name of sorts, and been accepted. I was wondering if anyone else had encountered a similair story, and whether having a catchy name is very important in getting your manuscript even seen. I am aware that it is possible that a publisher/agent will change your name around a bit (JK Rowling) but I did not think about the effect your name could have in getting your manuscript read.
My name is Heidi Marie Roberts, it kind of seems boring doesn't it? What could I do to spruce it up?
In which case, I think I will have to alter the way my name appears on my manuscript!
I am still getting used to Anthony Scott Glenn myself, as I have only been using it for a year :) birth name was Anthony Scott Ali.
Double Wow! I noticed you'd changed your name as soon as I tuned in this evening. I thought how much more powerful Anthony Scott Glenn sounds. It has a ring of greatness to it. Strange isn't it - how it jumped out at me the moment I saw it.
