Hi, I recently have read a few stories about writers who have sent off their manuscripts and met rejections only to change their name, to a pen name of sorts, and been accepted. I was wondering if anyone else had encountered a similair story, and whether having a catchy name is very important in getting your manuscript even seen. I am aware that it is possible that a publisher/agent will change your name around a bit (JK Rowling) but I did not think about the effect your name could have in getting your manuscript read.
Wow! I like your name. Anthony Scott Glenn, I like it, Memorable. Anthony G Glenn...hmmm :/ nope, prefer the first. A.S Glenn is pretty good and catchy too though.
Reading back over this thread has made me think about my own name. I took on my wife's surname after we married because of continuing her line (I have four brothers so there is still some distance our surname can go.)
So AS Glenn as an author name? Or should I use my full name which is Anthony Scott Glenn. I don't know. But it is something I will consider a bit more when preparing for submissions in the near future...
A great thread though and one that has definitely sparked lots of debate. :)
Agreeing with above comment! which by the way, isabella, you have one of my favourite names! TY for the compliments of my name and shared piece :) strange that I have a niece called Tia Limbert though :)
