Book title

Hi everyone

Does anyone have any tips/ ideas of how to come up with a book title? It took me ages to come up with the one I have 'damaged', I googled it and couldn't find many books with that title. But then someone told me it's actually quite a popular one, and a search on iBooks confirmed this. Now I'm back to the drawing board.

I didn't think it would be this hard to think of a title!

Thanks

Always check that what you come up with hasn't been used before, if it has and it fits your novel then try adding another word to the title to differ from some other book. Also make your title draw in an audience e.g if it is a thriller, don't just use "who killed ?" remember the novel title "To Kill a Mocking Bird" this makes the novel appear more interesting. - see what I mean!

I once bought a book entitled "The Bible", assuming it was the book of the same title by my favourite author, Wanda Persimmon Clayhampton. (The author's name wasn't on the cover.) It turned out to be a load of codswallop about a "jealous god" (as if there were such things!) banishing, smiting, drowning, ordering stonings... and generally being quite nasty. Once I put it down, I just couldn't pick it up again.
