Books

I know that this community is based around writing but as Stephen King says, 'if you don't have the time to read, you don't have the time to write. Simple as that.'

I love reading and I was wondering whether anyone had read any good books recently that they would recommend?

Do you tend to stick to the same genre of book or do you read a mixture of everything?

The last book I read was Dear Fatty by Dawn French. I am just about to start reading The secrets of crickley hall by James Herbert then I will start my new book that I am writing called White Lies. ( I must be mad) its a mixture of everything.

I tend to read a mixture, crime, comedy, scifi, fantasy, but do return to the same authors as well, particularly the Marlowe books by Raymond Chandler. If you haven't read these, there are seven, then I recommend you give them a go. Although some of the plots are a bit heavy going, he has a way with words few have matched and often there is much more in the text than you will spot with a single read.

Also, now with a kindle, I am reading some classics available as a free download I wouldn't have dreamed of reading a few years ago.Roll on the revolution.
