Confuse

Hi! I am frustrated about being rejected about my story. Can anyone be kind enough to read my story and tell me what's wrong? Not creative? Childish? Just please be true and honest.

The story is based on last year's Writers&Artists Short story competition theme(freedom).

I wrote my first book last year and sent it out - then the rejections started to come in. So I went back to the story and looked at it objectively, editing and in some instances rewriting sections or bits of dialogue that on second reading didn't ring true. Now I (think, hope) have a much better book! So rejection is frustrating and depressing, absolutely, but don't let it stop you, keep moving forwards and take it as part of the learning process. Good luck!

Famous authors have many of their stories rejected at first. Stephen King used to put his rejection letters on a long nail on his wall and look where he is now. It takes time, and a great deal of perseverance.
