Usually I just type something - anything - which has nothing to do with the piece of writing I am blocked on. It usually loosens up the block so that I can carry on.
On the other hand, I tend to find that I get blocked quickly if the story has arrived in a place which I am not totally happy with. In that case, I will make a copy of it, delete it back to the point where I am still pleased with it and then re-write it from there, going down a different track if I need to. Normally that works a treat.

The way I do it is by taking a break,
-by like going for a walk to get some air
-by consuming something cold in the break like ice cream or soda etc and chill off my mind
-by watching something entertaining TV shows like funny ones
but the point is what ever you do try and keep your mind off your book
I would read a poem or twenty pages of a novel if you suffer with writers block.
