Do you intend to kill your characters off?

A would-be author who intends to write a series of novels might have a better chance of hooking an agent or publisher.

Why kill off good characters when you can leave them in the ether to be recycled.

I killed the first one in chapter 3.... he was never meant for the book. I did intend to kill Mrs Higgybottom but I could not do it as her character was to strong.

Hmm, I do intend to kill a few character's in my books, though I am not sure which. Perhaps I will proceed to that issue when the time comes. Though for a certain story I have in mind, never put to writing, I plan for the protagonist to die, though not for ever. Though I think some of the best character's too need to have deaths, and need to die. You would understand what I'm talking of, when you observe the death of Dumbledore.

Being a bus-pass holding writer/illustrator of cat books, in real life we are onto our third generation of cats, whereas the literary family just gets bigger and bigger (but only 6 and counting).
