Hi Guys,
I was just wondering how many of my fellow writer's find themselves going through a serious dry patch when it comes to their writing world. Myself personally, haven't so much as picked up a pen or typed, well anything in months. How many of you have experienced a lack of inspiration?
I have had a hectic few months with family illness, work and holidays so my dreams of being a writer have completely slipped from thought. As hard as I might I just can't seem to get my pen to paper....
The comments above seem pretty typical, in my experience. Though circumstances are difficult they're all excuses, and I'm one of the world's finest exponents of 'finding reasons not to write'. So I sympathise with all. Really.
Problem is, if writing was your day job you'd get fired for not doing it. And you really want it to be your day job. So you have to find the time, even when you don't have the inspiration.
I'll get me coat ;)
I don't think I'd have an actually dry spell, but I just don't seem to have time to really get into my work right now. The section I'm working on needs a couple of days of real focus and the most I can give it is a couple of hours at a time. So frustrating.
I'll get back to you when I know. A divorce drains you especially when it's not you who wants it.
Surely, there are not many answers here that seems too helpful, but I think that there is no one answer to this question. It's different from writer to writer.Try and try again, I think is the best way.
I hope the year brings better circumstances for you and your family. Good luck!!
