Hi everyone, I'm new to W&A and was just wondering what is the best way to share my work? If I share a sample chapter can anyone see it or only the people I have 'connected' with? And also how do you find people to connect with? I have requested to connect with a couple of people who I have seen on the Q&A page but wonder is this the best way to find people with similar interests?

If your writing is interesting, people will stick with it through 3,000 words. If it isn't, they won't. I have read pieces of 3,000 words and begged for more of the same. I have also given up after 2 paragraphs of mundane writing.
As the House Pedant, may I amend slightly what Lorraine wrote? ANYBODY - whether user or not, whether logged-in or not - can read any Shared Work and any Question (and Answer) on this page. Logged-in users can comment/reply. Connecting to others allows private comments, the interchange of e-mail addresses (if so wished), etc.
Unfortunately - in my opinion - connection does NOT help you keep tabs on what your (fascinating) connections have commented on, or posts that they have initiated. But - by clicking on their names or faces - at least you can access their shared works more easily. Even the ones from way back.
