A fun question. who are...?

Who are your favourite contemporary and traditional authors. One contemporary and one traditional from each country of your choice.

UK. Jane Austen - Michael Morpurgo

USA. Nathaniel Hawthorne - Sharon Creech

I struggle to think of pairs of authors from other countries.

Hunter S Thompson is real good. He is totally cool with his sort-of-biography funny stuff. But, then there's Gaston Leroux, Oscar Wilde and Victor Hugo.

Also, WP Blatty and Susan Hill are quite cool.

Ummm.....so, yeah, that's it really.

Except, you know, CHRISTOPHER PRIEST! He is by far the best.......

(Sorry if that didn't help).

England Charles Dickens and Terry Pratchett

US Mark Twain and Stephen King

France Honoré de Balzac and Gustave Flaubert

Russia Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Scotland Walter Scott and Nigel Tranter

apologies to all other countries whose authors I haven't latched on to;

apologies also for fact that the second choice in each row, the contemporary selection, may also be deceased too!
