Hi everyone. I've got a question for you all.

I know I haven't been on for a while but I'd like to ask for your honest opinion on what I'm busy writing about!

I'm writing Young Adult, what involves domestic violence, also rape. Do you think it should be wrote about or left alone, I believe it needs to be told, as it can happen at any age! Do Young Adults need to learn about this, or should it be kept under the carpet like always!

Again honest opinions welcome. I'd like to hear others thoughts on this.

I meant to say that even children get raped! In my country rape is escalating but we still pretty much sweep it under the carpet. When girls get together at some celebration like baby or bridal showers where there's wine to loosen up tongues, it's scary how many stories of rape, abuse and harassment come up. So girls, women at some point of their lives experience sexual abuse in it's many forms.

Yes Myrisha go for it and I hope you find healing, forgiveness and healing in the process.

Hi Myrisha,

I have to say I agree with A Fox about the anger and emotions but I'd have to say you need to skillfully portray it in a way that will keep urging your readers to turn the pages. I live next to South Africa and cases of children as young as 3 months are alarming!

Morning all.

Thank you Paul, I understand where you are coming from and your point is valued. Yes I'm doing this to help me, as I know that I need it. I'm more angry at myself because I allowed it to continue on and I know I should have walked away but I didn't.

Fox, thank you also, I've never really thought about what way I'm writing it I would say 'genre' I think.

Neeraj, I understand what you are saying also, as this happened not in my country as I was living abroad at the time, and no one would help me. So I kept quiet as I thought it was normal. I should have spoken up and looked for help but I didn't know where to turn or who to turn to.
