Hide and seek agents

Why is it a case of every legit agent in the UK seems to be either on the run or avoiding new authors? I am aware that it is not only myself who is having trouble locating these elusive individuals let alone contacting them..... its like chasing a conspiracy theory.

I think you're so right Daniel, they are like trying to find hens teeth. But Mr or Ms Fox has mentioned it can also be the type of genre you are writing.

I noticed on the bookshelves when Fifty shades came out there was such an influx of that type of writing. Its as though some speed writers wait for a book to become a top seller then jump on the tail feathers as quick as they can.

And for some reason the agents and book publishers can't get them out quick enough, bearing in mind the author has never been heard of before and by the quality of the copy style they will never be heard of again.

Its the same old story of jumping on the bandwagon, Originality has gone out of the window.

So back to your question it is hard and all you can do is just keep trying, and eventually you will get that break.
