I had an idea of where the three main characters would end up, and I had an event based on something that actually happened to me to start things off. Everything just grew from there. What was going to be three books is now six and I am still surprised where some of the characters are taking me.
Also Adrian, thanks for your clarification about recycling characters - I totally get it, I think I was thinking about the word recycling and applying it in a different way!
