'Cause I just can't seem to do it. I'll have an idea, maybe two, and I'll like them. I'll want to sit down and write and write like I actually have some sort of clue as to what I'm doing. I'll have an image in my mind of me maybe 10 chapters in and still going strong. Maybe I'll even have a plan to follow, like I'm actually organised. But, in reality, I might write one or two sentences - a paragraph if I'm lucky - and then stop. I'll be browsing the internet, doing absolutely nothing. Its frustrating, but once I start doing nothing, I then have nothing to write down, so the procrastinating continues.
How do you start writing, and then continue to do so?
This probably sounds a little strange but I have a set number of games to play before I start. I'll do whatever i'm currently into on Facebook, then it's the spider solitare. As soon as I've won a game of that I have to start writing. You just need to set yourself some rules.
I go to a local cafe once a week and used to take a pen and paper and sit with my coffee and just write. Now I have a notebook and don't use the wifi on it. It's quiet there and I get lost in what I'm writing. I feel as if my writing is improving the more I write. I have just started writing my 3rd novel (none published yet) and for the first time I am making a storyboard to try and make things easier for myself.
Sometimes, if I'm stressed about other things, I find I can't write at all. I have to be relaxed or the thoughts won't flow.
Good luck
its all about will power
make a rule to write at a certain time a day, and write daily, u don't have to take the tension of ur writting not being good, u will improve day by day
just relax and start writting, once the step is taken u will see the staircase by ur self :)
awl the very best
