I'm getting towards the end of completing the first draft of my current work in progress, and sometimes it's been hard to motivate myself to keep going if I'm feeling like it isn't going in the right way. How. Do you guys keep yourself motivated?

Plan plan plan :)
It doesn't mean you always have to stick to them - God knows I don't. But having everything planned out in detail really helps.
Also - this might sound silly - but music has been a huge inspiration for me when I'm not writing (if I'm in the car or walking my dog etc). I listen to songs and picture my book at the same time. It's surprising how many fresh ideas can pop into your head.

Hi Thomas,
There was a point at the end of my first book when I felt the same way. After thinking long and hard about it I realised it was a 'fear of finishing'. Why? Because then we have to face publishers, readers and tackle the hardest part of all; rejections and possibly bad reviews. It's the moment of truth.
Once I realised this it became easier to finish it.
