I bought my copy of Writer’ & Artists Yearbook 2013, but I found on the internet “independent” publishers not listed in W’s & A. They are, however, the only ones inviting MSS submissions without a literary agent. Can they to be trusted?

Only one rejection so far and it hurts already. I suppose after too many you scrape the barrel. Anything would do to have your book published...

Thank you Victoria for your sensible advice. I was curious about them and only suspicion made me ask the question. No, an "independent" publisher would not suit me. Perhaps some time in the future when all the (reputable) publishers listed in W&A reject my MS...
