This isn't a question that I need to know to help with my writing, I was just curious as to what other people find influentual when writing their stories/novels. I find listening to music or watching T.V. as well as my mood influences what I write. What about everyone else?
All sorts really. Music is a big influence to me, driving and generally what I'm doing or have done that day. I use location a lot in my writing. I imaging being at a place or I go to different places to write. Lol mood also changes my writing, you can tell when I'm having a slightly nutty day. :D
Mood is indeed a heavy influence for me. I do suffer a little from depresion, but as a writer of the Supernatural, this is quite benefical to me. I find I cannot write with music or the TV in the background; I need absolute quiet.
Also, the works of other authors are very influencial, and Stephen King has inspired me no end.
