Not for the writing but for all the other stuff that you would desperately like to avoid in the journey from manuscript to published book - is such a service possible, available or even valuable? Where is that benign, old, fatherly friend when you need him? Does it work with a friendly, old or young but experienced stranger?
Hi Robert
We offer a mentoring service! The service is bespoke and can be tailored entirely to your needs, whether you have a lot of writing experience or very little. All our mentors offer expert, specific advice on your writing craft and your manuscript. They will set you writing goals and help you stick to them, will help keep you motivated and will guide you through the submission process.
The feedback and advice is provided through face-to-face meetings, phone conversations and regular online communication with your mentor, for either 3, 6 or 12 months.
All the details are here: http://www.writersandartists.co.uk/writers/services/bespoke-mentoring or you can call Celeste on 0207 631 5993 to ask any questions.
Best wishes
WAYB team
I've just received a severe telling off from a friend because I ignored a tweet by an agent asking for exactly what my book is about. You're not the only one feeling vulnerable and overwhelmed. Apparently the friend is going to contact me on Thursday and if I haven't tweeted back by then I'm going to get another telling off.
I had the perfect excuse until this afternoon - I was worried about a hospital appt - but the appointment went well so I'm fresh out of excuses.
It is best to have your manuscript checked for errors before sending it off to agents and publishers.
Cressida Downing and Wanda Whiteley provide manuscript services for a fee.
