I would suggest that you do anything to safely stir your emotions. A trip to your hometown you may have fought your out of? Watching Wood Allen's work, clever outside of the box films such as Darjeeling Limited always makes me jealous to make my mark as a writer. As regards to walking in the woods and other common suggestions, I only find this helps if I come across a bull peeking through the trees at me.
Same place for me too. I have just started editing after a six month break, the last month spent playing games on the i pad knowing at some point I have to fire up the lap top and knuckle down to it.
My problem is the oposite to Jennifer, after all this time I'm still enthralled by my own story and end up just reading it for the sake of reading, and not doing any actual editing. It seems no matter what I do, I cannot distance myself.
Who ever said the hard work starts with editing wasn't joking.
Keep at it MK, you'll write that one wonderful sentence that says everything you want to say, and you'll be hooked again.
