New shared work

Hi Everybody,

Yesterday I decided that my prose was too prosaic and needed stirring up. I wrote a short piece by a technique that is perhaps best described as directed free association. This has potential pitfalls, of course. The associations that I select may have little of no general validity but be peculiar to me.

I've posted it in the shared works section, and I would be very interested in others' opinions of it. It's called 'Vision', and it's less than 500 words!

All the best

Penny

Well I like the name yiuve coined for it, Penny :) I've posted a couple of recent poems on here Penny, but they are just 2 very simple ones I wrote as a quick exercise in my writing class - but not in the style which you've mentioned above. I may post some other stuff sometime

Thank you both for your encouragement.

Clare, I just made up a name for the technique to try and describe what I'd done - I don't think it's a recognised label! I suppose I was wondering whether anybody else could put an 'official' label on it!

I'd be interested to read some of your poetry, Clare. Have you posted it anywhere?

I liked it too Penny. An enjoyable read. I like to write poetry in this style sometimes. I' didn't realise it was a technique with a name.
