"I'm surprised however that the website 'admin' haven't come up with a way round what seems to be a ludicrous situation. Robin"
This is a free site. I mean that we don't have to pay to join up.
In addition, we aren't constantly plagued by pop-up adverts from other sites or "services".
In addition, once we rack up 200 points, they send us a free book, postage paid (in my case, of the genre that I asked for and sent to France).
I quite often bother Admin with suggestions for improvements to the site. They are always polite, always explain that changes cost money, and that they will work on improvements when they can.
No social networking site is perfect. This one's a helluva lot better than Facebook (to dig out an obscure example).
Have you got IT skills? Would you like to volunteer to work on these improvements for free? Or would you prefer to be bombarded with shrill advertising every time you clicked to another Q&A.
Me? I think that we're getting a pretty good deal...
Thanks Jimmy for taking the time to reply. I'll try it out. I'm surprised however that the website 'admin' haven't come up with a way round what seems to be a ludicrous situation. Robin
You've made some good points Jimmy and I can accept what you say. In retrospect my use of the word 'ludicrous' was going too far.
Unfortunately I don't have IT skills, however if I did, I would offer them for free.
Robin
