Should I put the same effort in "problems" that don't really matter for the story, but make the story a bit more interesting that I do with the hole story?

Ya... I did... but thank you!
Hi Tiago.
I would say t depends if your story is a novel or a short story. For a novel going off at a tangent doesn't matter providing it is relevant to the outcome.
A short story needs few distractions or it looks like padding. Minor distractions having a effect on the outcome of your story are permissible.
By the way you meant the whole story didn't you?
best wishes.
Thank you very much
