Organisation Calling Itself 'IPR License'

I have had an email from the above organisation.

Beginning with the headline question "are you looking for a publisher or an agent?" they are offering me a "...ground-breaking platform (on) writers can list their work, add a preview, (which) it will then automatically be entered in the search used by Member Publishers and Agencies from around the world".

Basically for 95 quid they will put your name on a list somewhere, to be seen somewhere, by someone at some time.

Am I being cynical in thinking that this is a complete waste of money, (especially as the original headline appears deceptive to say the least)?

Apologies for auto repeat! IT was playing up.

As I understand it IPR is connected to the Copyright Services company where I registered copies of my work.

This is the company I use to assist me in all things to do with self-publishing. They are also running their first writing competition for those interested.

David,

The address is:

IPR License

2 London Wall Buildings

London, Eng EC2M 5UU

United Kingdom

They also offer a service to Publishers and Agents to help them 'discover new work for potential representation via unpublished work added to the platform directly by authors' and charge THEM £1000 for the privelege; strangely as Publishers and Agents keep telling me how 'snowed under' they are with, er .... new work actually, I can't see how this can possibly work.

Ironically I have a publisher, and a further two have shown interest in my next work, but this just looked to me like someone trying to rip off unpublished, potentially, naive, authors.

Debbi, you're right there is a Legend Press connection.
