Pulp Fiction

I want to dabble in a bit of pulp fiction, just to try something new and stretch myself a little bit. I still haven't found a niche I'm fully comfortable with and trying new things is a lot of fun! Can you recommend any good examples of pulp fiction that I could look at or reference?

Thanks!

Matt Hilton is trying to promote the fast-paced, two-fisted, full-blooded, pulse pounding fiction writting style of the Sam Spade era

via his Action: Pulse Pounding Tales Series

I have been so lucky as to get one of my stories accepted for

You must read my all-time fav author, Raymond Chandler, and all seven of his Philip Marlowe books, starting with 'The Big Sleep'. You may have seen the film with Bogart and Bacall. Watch the film to see how good an actor each of them are, but read the books for a real writer's treat. He has such a great way with words and, following on the heels of other greats such as Dashiell Hammett (Sam Spade), he made the genre his own. Anything that came after is just a poor copy.
