Ward off awkwardness ?

I am going to write about an awkward topic, sort of bit teenager's type but I am worried about what people who know me will say. I know my parents won't say anything to whatever I do but I am terribly worried to what others will comment/ say ?

What should I do ? Go on with this idea or drop it ?

Neeraj,

Yes this is a dilemma we Asians face very much. I too feel the same way. But fortunately my wife does not read English fiction. But my brothers, sisters and children do read. That's a problem. As far as possible avoid describing any direct action scenes, avoid using bad vulgar words. Try to narrate sex as mildly as possible...as gently as plucking a rose from among the thorns. No body can object.

Writer's write what they wish to write and want to write, you wouldn't write a huge manuscript or work on it with out any will to do so. So this is what I'd say, Write it If you want to write, no one is forcing you, other than your own mind and will. Other's opinions are something that you should worry about after having written the piece. So if you want to write, first Write it down, you needn't tell anyone you're writing it and you don't have to show it around either. Just Simply write it down first. I am sure things will seem a little better after writing it.

Good Luck
