What does the future hold ?

In this world of high technology and fast life, with E books getting ever more popular. What does the future hold for todays authors. What will we be doing will we still even be reading books.

For me I seriously can't see anything ever replacing the book. What can be better than chilling out with a good book, nothing. Sorry I lied chilling out with a good book while taking a hot soak. Top notch.

So what does the future hold ?

Gordon, I had a kindle and loads of books; yet when my sister sat on my kindle and broke it I wasnt as upset as when books get accidentally damaged aha. To me nothing can beat a book. I honest ly hope books never fall out of fashion but if they do I suppose I can visit antique shops and charity shops more often :)

Hi there, I think you are both right and like you Megan I find the Ebooks are the way to store your book quantity. I'm not sure of the number my Kindle will hold but its into the 1,000s to carry your entire library around with you seems out of this world.

But I think we tend to try to push the boundaries way to far, but like you also Antoinette I do believe that the hard copy of the book will be around for a long time.

But I just wonder what would replace the hard copy if they could in time, may be the Ebook is just the start and like the mobile phone it will soon swamp the market and everyone will have the Ebook.

I don't think real books are going anywhere for a long time. To me the ebook is a quicker way of getting published and id that goes well, it'll get re-published the old fashion was, which is how I'm going to do it. So ebooks are just a good way to get your foot in the door in my opinion.
