What keeps you writing

When all looks down and out and you have exhausted the rejection letters what spurs you on to the next chapter?

I just enjoy telling the stories. I usually take the attitude that they are for my own enjoyment first and my readers second (although that's not to say that I don't think about them while I am writing).

I just do it to pass the time - its something that I enjoy and take pride in doing.
