Why do stories matter

Very often, stories can change our lives and drive real personal change. So my question to you is, why do stories matter to you? And how have they changed your life?

For me, stories matter because we can find meaning in them, and by finding that meaning we are sometimes able to have a deeper understand of everything.

So fire away fellow writers&artists!

Stories matter to me, they have helped find myself. From being a boring, dim witted lad, books have transformed me into a socially active, well connected, loved and respected teenager. I have learnt various nuances of life, which do affect us but aren't the barriers of life!

Books are my world!!

To me stories are best a way of learning. They are also the best of hobbies. Stories provide a world of their own and if one wants it, one will be able to sift from them lessons to apply them to real world.
