Modern Folk Horror: The New Revival

Modern Folk Horror: The New Revival
Webinar for Writing Magazine
Wednesday 24th April, 6:30pm-8:30pm

While Folk Horror enjoyed its first heyday in the 70s and 80s, the genre subsequently largely disappeared from public view - until now that is. But why is Folk Horror suddenly finding itself once more in the limelight, and how can you write stories in the sub-genre that feel fresh and modern?

In this workshop we'll take a look at folk horror both new and old to chart a path to its place in 2023, examining some famous examples and some of the reasons behind the resurgence, as well as closing with a writing exercise.

Presented by acclaimed lecturer, tutor and Writing Magazine regular Alex Davis.
