Connecting with your audience can feel very different in person to how it feels on paper. As a result, there are many published and unpublished writers who dread giving readings and interviews. Yet the enjoyment of connecting with your audience in person is closer than it seems to connecting with them on paper.
Author and presenter Dr Rachel Knightley draws on her background of directing and performing, interviewing and being interviewed and coaching writers and performers for stage, screen and online. This two-hour workshop gives you the tools, tricks and games to bring the fun into sharing your writing, strengthening your confidence and letting you enjoy your time in public.
Dr Rachel Knightley is a fiction and non-fiction author, interviewer and feature writer. Her writing and confidence workshops have run as part of the UK Ghost Story Festival is the presenter of the Writers' Gym podcast and the Starburst Magazine Youtube series The E.I. of Sci-fi. She lectures in creative writing at Roehampton University. Her second collection of short stories will be published in October 2023. She is also the author of Your Creative Writing Toolkit and the WJEC Eduqas GCSE Drama Study and Revision Guide (Hodder). www.rachelknightley.com
