Before we do though, we would like to say thank you to everyone who entered. We've been blown away by the quality of the entries we received, and have thoroughly enjoyed spending the past week fighting alongside Vikings, strolling through 1950s Chicago and dancing with kings. We encourage each and every one of the (nearly) 500 of you who entered to pursue your stories, because they've been a pleasure to read.

It's time to announce the shortlist for our Historical Fiction competition!
